The specific protocol work items area listed in the Goals and Milestones section below. Additional work items will require rechartering. Goals and Milestones: Done - Submit OSPF for IPv6 to IESG for consideration as a Standard. Done - Update the OSPF NSSA option specified in RFC 1587 and submit to IESG for consideration as a Proposed Standard Done - Develop Traffic Engineering extensions for OSPFv2 and submit it to the IESG as a Proposed Standard Done - Submit to IESG a document which updates RFC 1793 allowing detection of demand circuit neighbors whose OSPF process has exited. Done - Submit to IESG a BCP advocating that OSPF LSA refreshes be spread out over time Done - Develop a hitless restart mechanism for OSPF and submit it to the IESG as a Proposed Standard. Done - Document Alternative ABR implementations and submit ti IESG as an Informational RFC Done - Extend the hitless restart mechanism to OSPFv3 and submit it to the IESG as a Proposed Standard Done - Submit to IESG a BCP advocating that OSPF Hellos be given preference over other OSPF control traffic. Done - Update OSPFv2 MIB and submit to IESG as a Standard, replacing RFC 1850 Done - Specify IPSEC usage with OSPFv3 and submit to IESG for consideration as a Proposed Standard Done - Extend OSPF Demand Circuits to detect inactive neighbors and submit to IESG for consideration as a Proposed Standard Done - Provide mechanisms to prevent looping in RFC 2547 OSPF networks and submit to IESG for consideration as a Proposed Standard Done - Develop OSPFv2 Multiple Topology Routing (MTR) specification and submit to IESG for consideration as a Proposed Standard Done - Develop OSPF Capabilities Advertisement specification and submit to IESG for consideration as a Proposed Standard Done - Document IANA Considerations for OSPFv2 and OSPFv3 for consideration as a BCP Done - Standardize OSPF PCE Capabilities Advertisement Done - Develop OSPF for IPv6 MIB and submit to IESG for consideration as a Proposed Standard Done - Reissue RFC 2370 with corrections and clarifications and submit to IESG for consideration as a Proposed Standard Done - Reissue RFC 2740 with corrections and clarifications and submit to IESG for consideration as a Proposed Standard Done - Develop mechanisms for support of multi-area adjacencies on a single link and submit to IESG for consideration as a Proposed Standard Done - Advance Link Local Signaling (LLS) from experimental status and submit to IESG for consideration as a Proposed Standard Done - Standardize OSPFv2 Multi-Area Adjacency Done - Standardize OSPFv3 Graceful Restart Done - Develop Traffic Engineering extensions for OSPFv3 and submit it to the IESG as a Proposed Standard Done - Develop multiple instance OSPFv3 protocol mechanisms to support multiple address families and topologies Done - Develop multiple OSPFv3 protocol alternatives to reduce flooding overhead and adjacencies in a MANET environment and submit to the IESG as experimental RFCs Done - Standardize OSPFv3 Graceful Restart Done - Standardize OSPFv3 TE Extensions Done - Update OSPFv3 (RFC 2740) Done - Develop stronger authentication mechanisms for OSPFv2 and submit to IESG as a Proposed Standard Mar 2009 - Develop a single instance OSPFv3 Multiple Topology Routing (MTR) specification and submit to IESG for consideration as a Proposed Standard Done - Standarize Dynamic Hostname Advertisement Done - Standardize OSPFv3 MIB Done - Standardize OSPF Link Local Signalling (Experimental) Done - Standardize OSPFv2 HMAC-SHA Cryptographic Authentication Done - Standardize OSPF TE Node Address Extensions Done - Experimental OSPFv3 MANET Extensions Done - Standardize OSPFv3 Address Family extensions Done - Standardize OSPFv3 Authentication Trailer extensions Done - Standardize OSPFv2 multi-instance extensions Done - Standardize OSPFv3 as a Provider Edge Routing Protocol Done - Standardize OSPF/OSPFv3 Prefix Hiding mechanisms Done - Update OSPF Stub Router (RFC 3107) mechanisms supporting OSPFv3 Done - Publish experimental OSPF MANET extensions for Single-Hop Broadcast Networks Done - Standardize protocol extensions for OSPFv3 authentication supporting KARP requirements Done - Standardize TE Metric Extensions supporting delay, loss, and bandwith Done - Standardize protocol extensions for OSPFv2 authentication supporting KARP requirements Done - Standardize protocol extensions for OSPFv3 autoconfiguration Dec 2015 - Standardize OSPFv2 Extensions to advertise Prefix/Link Attributes Dec 2015 - Re-issue RFC 4970 with multi-instance support Dec 2015 - Standardize OSPF Advertisement of Seamless-BFD Discriminators Dec 2015 - Standardize OSPF Advertisement of Node Admin Tags Jun 2016 - Standardize OSPFv2 Extensions for Segment Routing Jun 2016 - Standardize OSPF 2-Part Metric Extensions Jun 2016 - Standardize OSPF Entropy Label Capabity Advertisement Extensions Jun 2016 - Standardize OSPF Maximally Redundant Trees Advertisement Extensions Jun 2016 - Standardize OSPFv3 over IPv4 Extensions Jun 2016 - Publish Experimental Draft on OSPF TTZ Dec 2016 - Standardize OSPF YANG Model Dec 2016 - Standardize OSPFv3 LSA Extensions Jun 2017 - Standardize OSPF Flow Spec Extensions Jun 2017 - Standardize OSPFv3 Segment Routing Extensions
