Timeframe IETF 94 (Yokohama)

Current schedule of "Important Dates" requires that all BOF proposal requests be submitted to Area Directors (ADs) by 2359 UTC Friday, 2015-09-18. The IAB and IESG will hold a joint teleconference to discuss the proposals. Applications and Real-Time

Internet Storage Sync (ISS)

  • Name: Internet Storage Sync (ISS)
  • Description: Network-based storage services, allow users to sync local files with remote servers on the Internet, are getting more and more popular. They attract huge number of users and produce a significant share of Internet traffic. However, most of them employ proprietary sync protocols to achieve data sync. Such proprietary formats sacrifice the user experience when users desire to experience multiple services or wish to share local files with users from other services. Their proprietary sync protocols are also proved to be not efficient enough and lack of important collaborative features. The goal of this BoF is to find whether we have enough interests to work on this topic, the possible scope of work and come up with an idea on how to do the work.
